One of the best things about this time of year is the opportunity to plan. I love a plan and the shift from December to January means the start of a new Q1 and ninety days of possibility.
I plan my working life in ninety-day blocks thanks to learning from Gemma Went, business mentor extraordinaire, and yesterday I began her 2020 planning session. I’ve been lucky enough to be working with Gemma for the December-January shift over the last three years and I made sure I could follow her wisdom this year too. Every year she brings something new into the mix and this year was no different.
I had a much needed moment of clarity and visualised a future that I had never considered before. The planning will take longer than I first thought; I’ve got shizzle to do!
I will be sharing much more on my new adventure in the coming year; it involves dogs, of course!
Alongside the burst of inspiration, I was thinking about the help I’d need to up my game. Marketing, products, websites, social media, content, money management… you name it, I want to super-charge it.
I can’t do that by myself.
If you’re in the same boat, you have a long list of things you want to do to build your business in 2020 and you know you can’t do it alone, allow me to introduce you to some amazing people who could help:
I mentioned, Gemma Went, business mentor extraordinaire who will help you to achieve the goals you have never dared articulate.
Glyniss Trinder will change your mind. Literally! If you’re caught up in not feeling good enough, frightened to step up and take your business to the next level or believe that you’re just not going to be able to do what you dream of doing, you need Glyniss-wisdom.
Content. That’s the thing we all need, isn’t it? What do we share, how much do we share, what platform do we share it on, what format do we use to share, who cares what we share? Enter, the Queen of Content. Daire Paddy is the creator of my favourite content planning process, Batch Like A Bitch, and has everything you need to ensure you’re a content-making machine in 2020.
If you’re going to be brave and bring video into your 2020 marketing and delivery plan, Justina Rosu will share her years of experience with you. There’s nothing she doesn’t know about how to make video work for you.
Websites a go-go. I love nothing more than tinkering behind the scenes on my website but when I inevitably break something (I said I enjoy it, I didn’t say I was good at it!) I turn to Jen Miller, the woman who helped me get this site up and running. There’s also Lottie Reeves, a fellow social entrepreneur who also likes to tinker with websites, except, she knows what she’s doing and can create tutorials just for you and act as your very own tech fairy (her words!).
With all of this set up, your business ready to hit new highs and your profile growing, you need to get some PR action. That’s where Kristel Valaydon will rock your world. She believes in your business as much as you do (sometimes more than you do!) and inspires action in ways that lead to perfect connections.
So, you have your business strategy and you’re mindset is working for you, not against you. You have the content plan to end all content plans and you’ve added video to that list because you’re ready to take off your beanie hat and get visible (ok, my videos will also be at least 50% beanie-esque) and your website is achieving more hits than Celine Dion in a warble factory (I love Celine!). You’re seeing your story pop up in newspapers, on websites and you’re getting calls from new clients, wanting to work with you. What now?
Well, you need to decorate that executive office of yours and luckily, I have just the person to help you do that. I have one of her pieces on the wall of my office and I could not love it more. Check out the exceptional, Julie Wrathall, and treat yourself to a piece that will inspire you every day.
I was thinking about the people I’ve met on my business journey so far and there are many more I could include here. I’m so bloody lucky to have these people in my world. They’re a constant inspiration, they’re pushing boundaries, and they’re doing the hard work so that they can say that they’re living their dream. They’re not saying that it’s easy, far from it, the dream takes courage to step into and we’re LIVING IT.
Thank you to each and every one of you; it’s an honour to know you. x
